Eileen Frost Marshall
SUNSET a" On Thursday, March 27, 2008, our mother and grandmother departed from us and returned to be with her best friend and husband, Mike, and her other loving family members.
Eileen was born October 19, 1922 in Ogden, Utah. She was the second of three children born to John Lorin and Lavina S. Brostrom Frost. She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1940. She attended college for two years during her adult life.
While hiking with friends to the top of Mt. Ogden peak, she met her best friend and eternal companion, Maurice "Mike" Sinclair Marshall. Their love and marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 24, 1942 by Mike''s uncle, President Heber J. Grant.
Eileen and Mike lived in Logan while Mike attended Utah State University. They also lived in Grantsville, Kaysville, and in Sunset since 1957.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in all auxiliaries. She was President of the Relief Society, Young Women and was a Visiting Teacher. She did extensive genealogy and family histories. She also served a Mission with her husband to England, and served in the Ogden Temple for 22 years in the Family File Department.
She worked for the Tooele Army Depot and later at Hill Air Force Base for 33 years as a supervisor in Accounting and Finance.
Eileen enjoyed genealogy work and traveling. Her greatest love was gathering all her family together and providing a loving, comfortable atmosphere. Grandma''s home was always open to everyone with never a shortage of Gummi-bears, M & M''s, love and laughter. Our Sundays and holidays will never be the same.
Surviving are one son and four daughters, David (Debbie) Marshall, West Point, UT; Diane (Frank) Richardson, Fruit Heights, UT; Janice (Geoff) Williams, Camas, WA; Connie (Larry) Burch, Island Park, ID; Shannon (John) Manchester, Tooele, UT; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is her brother-in-law, Raymond Hosley, Hooper.
Preceding Eileen in death were her parents, husband, one brother, one sister and one of her grandsons. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Sunset 1st Ward Chapel, 2431 North 250 West.
