Eileen Lois Tanner Rotman

February 27, 1940 ~ July 25, 2021

Eileen grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, lived in Minneapolis for 44 years and then spent 18 years in Tucson, Arizona.

She is survived by her husband and companion, Allan Edward Rotman, with whom she spent 62 loving and wonderful years; her son, Steven of San Francisco, California; daughter, Elisa and son in law, Erik Olson of Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew and Marnie; and brother, Clayton. Now deceased, her family also included her parents, Samuel and Edith Burstein Tanner and siblings, Larry, Marvel and Leonard.

Eileen graduated from Central High School in St. Paul and earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota.

Her professional career included co-leadership of the groundbreaking Women Mean Business, development of an innovative smoking cessation program, Unsmoke, and many successful years as a corporate trainer, consultant and writer.

Eileen lived a full and rich life. She loved music, as a listener and performer, read voraciously (especially mysteries), traveled the world extensively, enjoyed international cuisine, and formed many long and diverse friendships. She enjoyed art of all kinds, crossword puzzles and Scrabble, the natural world, and new experiences.

Eileen was cherished by her family and friends and will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, generosity, thoughtfulness, creativity, dry wit, many talents and skills, and lively personality.

Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
