Elaine C. Bateman

Elaine C. Bateman, 79, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her home.

She was born July 8, 1934 in Tunkhannock, PA to John and Elizabeth Hill Carter.

Elaine received her Associates Degree from Weber State College in Electronics and retired from Hill Air Force Base.

On March 20, 1955, Elaine married Dennis Lee Bateman at St. Mary''s Episcopal Church in Pocatello, Idaho, where they were advised to " laugh together but not at each other".

She was an active member of St. Peter''s Episcopal Church in Clearfield and with the Hill Air Force Museum.

She was a vibrant woman, had a zest for life and thoroughly enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her family members who served in the military for the United States. She will be remembered for her open door and coffee for visitors.

Elaine is survived by her husband, three daughters, LeeAnn Bateman (John) Berkman, Vacaville, CA; Dennise Bateman (Greg) Morris, Clinton; Laurie Bateman (Ray) Silva, Roy; two sons, Dennis Leo (Laureen) Bateman, Tinton Falls, NJ; and Kelly (Donna) Bateman, Layton ; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Gaye , her parents, four sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22nd at 11 a.m. at St. Peter''s Episcopal Church, 1579 South Street, Clearfield.

A viewing will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
