Elaine Cullimore Ely

"Together Forever" Elaine Cullimore Ely, “Grandma Great”, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 11, 2013 at age 88. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Thomas Ely; grandson, Jeb Ely; parents, William Jay and Pearl Cullimore; sister, Phyllis Diedrickson; and three brothers, Grant, Jay and Boyd. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Jan; sons, John C. (Meg) Ely and William T. (Deena) Ely; 11 adoring grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and brother, Ralph (Joy) Cullimore. She grew up in Garland, Utah. She was a graduate of Bear River High and Utah State University where she met her eternal companion “Jack.” They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 7, 1949. They raised their three children in Denver, Colorado before moving to Utah in 1980. Elaine served in numerous Church callings including Relief Society President and counselor in Young Women and Relief Society presidencies, and as a Temple worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. She opened her home and heart to many people. Elaine will be remembered best for her quick wit, sparkling blue eyes, compassionate heart and endless chocolate stash that could soothe any grandchild’s heartache. She and her sweetheart were the perfect balance in their home and are finally reunited after 17 years. We miss you Grandma Great! Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 17th Ward Chapel, 386 East Elberta Dr., North Ogden. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary.
