Ruth Elaine Bolander Wiggill, 82, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the home of her son, Mike, of natural causes.
She was born July 14, 1928 in Susanville, California to Andrew Crane Bolander and Alice Marriott Hewitt.
On June 9, 1949, Elaine married Kirt G. Wiggill in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2002.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings. She served in the Family and Church History Mission at the Joseph Smith Building on the Celestial "6" floor, from 2003 - 2006. That was the highlight of her life. She was also a member of the Daughter''s of Utah Pioneers in the Mt. Ogden Camp Weber North Center, and the Loco''s.
Elaine had worked at Hill Air Force Base as a key punch operator, Woolworth''s, and the I.R.S.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed genealogy, family music, reading and was an organized list maker.
Elaine is survived by her children, Shauna (Allen) Stevens, Middleton, ID; Paul, North Ogden; John (Peggi), Lexington, KY; Bonnie (Michael) Munson, Farr West; A''Layne Smith, Ogden; Alan, Ogden; Terry (Elaine), Brigham City; Michael (Linda), Pleasant View; Suzanne Craig, Layton; 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Survivors also include two sisters, Carolyn (Blaine) Layton, Tigard, OR; Varton Floros, Boise, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Harold G. Spencer, her husband, one brother, Delvin Bolander, a brother-in-law, James Floros, a sister-in-law, Colleen Bolander, and two grandson, Shaun and Brandon Wiggill.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 27th at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View 8th Ward Chapel, 255 West Elberta Drive.
The family will meet friends for a viewing on Sunday, September 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
