Eleanor “Ellie” Chavez Espinosa Redden
December 25, 1934 – January 14, 2018
Eleanor “Ellie” Chavez Espinosa Redden, 83, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away at home on January 14, 2018 after a long courageous battle.
Eleanor was born December 25, 1934 to Remigio and Lucy Chavez in Stoner, Colorado.
She graduated from Mancos High School.
Eleanor was married to Joe Delfino Espinosa on September 1, 1956 until his tragic death on December 31, 1967. They had three children together, Margaret, Nancy and Del.
Eleanor was remarried to Wayne Lowell Redden on June 30, 1972 in Farmington, Utah. Combining his family of four children, Peggy, Bill, Jaylin and George with her three children. Together they raised a family, enjoyed golfing, bowling, socializing with friends and traveling until Wayne passed away on July 27, 2006 at their home in Kaysville where she remained until she passed away peacefully.
In addition to golfing and bowling, Eleanor also enjoyed family, knitting, crocheting, playing bridge, gardening, and volunteering her time at the senior center.
Preceded in death by her parents, Remigio and Lucy Chavez, first husband Joe Espinosa, her first born daughter Margaret Espinosa, second husband Wayne Redden, and her siblings Fay, Fred, Sally, Clara, Virginia and Helen, stepsons Bill and George. She is survived by children Nancy Espinosa, Del (Janna) Espinosa, Jaylin (Bob) Hefty and Peggy (John) Gack, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and siblings Benny, Robert and Mary Lou, sister-in-laws Orlie Dominiguez and Susie Redden and in-laws Carole Naranjo and Henry Espinosa.
Eleanor you fought a courageous battle with your health for many years that was inspirational. May you rest in peace.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one steal.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, Kaysville. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
