On January 3, 2013, five days after her 93rd birthday, our loving mother, Eleen Hope Messerly Holley, passed away of causes incident to age.
She was born the seventh of 14 children to John and Mary Louise Grunig Messerly on December 29, 1919 in Montpelier, Idaho.
With her family she moved to Weber County as a young child and attended Weber County schools. She married Cecil Holley on June 25, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. To this union three sons were born; Dennis (deceased), Jay (Renee) and Blair (Christal). She lived in the same home in Wilson/West Haven until she was 91. She was an active member of the LDS Wilson Wards and served in many church auxiliaries.
Always a hard worker and a homemaker, she worked for many years as a salesperson at Clifton''s and the Joy Shop. She loved handicrafts, sports, and trips to Quartzsite and Yellowstone.
She was a proud grandma to 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Eleen was preceded in death by her husband Cecil; son, Dennis; and 11 of her 13 siblings.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the staff at The Family Tree Assisted Living in West Point and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their love and devotion to Mom.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
