Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Elisabeth Widler Ellis, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, October 20, 2014. She was born in Neunkirch, Switzerland on January 22, 1927, the daughter of Karl and Karolina Wildberger Widler. Elisabeth came from Switzerland to Salt Lake City, Utah and settled in Ogden, Utah, after she married her sweetheart, Robert M. Ellis on December 16, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. Robert passed away on June 6, 1989.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. Elisabeth served a mission in Switzerland from 1953 to 1955. Robert and Elisabeth served a temple mission in Chicago, Illinois from 1986 to 1988. They also served as Ogden Temple workers.
Elisabeth loved her family and spending time in her garden. She was very proud of both her Swiss and U.S. Citizenships.
Elisabeth is survived by her sons, Steven M. (Barbara) Ellis, Riverdale and Bruce J. (Chellena) Ellis, Salt Lake City; daughter, Mickie Ellis (Phil) Pulsipher, St. George; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who love her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Ellis and son, Robert M. Ellis, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 6 th Ward, 4760 South 200 East. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
