Betty (Elizabeth) Vitale Abrams
June 1, 1922 - December 28, 2015

A young and beautiful Elizabeth Vitale was swept off her feet by a handsome sailor on leave in New York harbor during World War II. Betty and Wallace Abrams were married in Manhattan on October 4, 1944. Wallace brought his young bride back to his home in Fruit Heights, Utah to make a life together. She was a fish out of water, but their home was right next door to her husband's family, and she soon became fast friends with his sister Jean and settled into life in the west. Jean's six children spent many an afternoon at Aunt Betty's house listening raptly to the stories of her youth in Little Italy and the exciting big city.

Betty and Wallace had over 50 years together before his death in 1995. Betty continued to live at their home in Fruit Heights, next door to her sister-in-law, until failing health sent her to the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield. She enjoyed her time there, serving on several committees, including as president of the residents' committee. She was also the center's long-running, undisputed, Wii bowling champion with two trophies on her wall to show for it. The family would like to thank the wonderful caretakers at Rocky Mountain Care Center for their excellent care.

Betty leaves behind her beloved sister Mary Bonacorsi and her husband Dan, and many loving nieces and nephews on both sides of her family.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.  Friends may visit family Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
