Elizabeth Ann (Betty) McQueen Chilia

Elizabeth Ann (Betty) McQueen Chilia, age 81, died on July 3, 2015, at Legacy/Fairfield Village, where she enjoyed retirement living for the past few years. She was born on February 21, 1934, in Holton, KS, to Knox Ralph and Lillie Ethel McQueen, the youngest of three children.

Betty married Vincent Chilia on August 7, 1954, in Topeka, KS. She retired from Hill AFB in 1986, then she and Vince travelled extensively until his death in 2000. Betty continued to “snowbird” in Quartzsite, AZ, until 2012, when she returned to Layton, UT, on a full-time basis. She also spent several years volunteering at Davis Hospital.

Betty is survived by a son, Rick (Jeannie) Chilia, and a daughter, Andrea (Carl) Simpson, four grandchildren, Christina (Lance Bush), Stephanie (George Pooley), Jason (Annie) Chilia, and Sara Ball. Betty’s six great-grandchildren are Brilee and Kambrie Bush, Hunter Brown, Bronson Chilia, and Joshua and Noah Keough.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vince, her parents, her sister, Jean Stauffer, and her brother, Harold McQueen.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, conducted by the Rev. Johnathon Klein of the Light of the Valley Lutheran Church.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
