Elizabeth M. Gergen
1921-2014
Elizabeth Gergen passed away on May 1, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on February 17, 1921 to Margaret Bella Biggs and Joseph Arthur Bickford in Auburn, California. She married John Timmis, later divorced. In February 1955 she married Robert Sylvester Gergen and together had two children, Alan and Linda. They later divorced.
Elizabeth was raised and educated in Lincoln, California. She received an Associate Degree from Placer Valley College in Auburn, California. She later served in the United States Navy during WWII. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in the Dialysis Unit at Deaconess Hospital in Billings, Montana. Her activities included being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a lifetime member of the NRA. Favorite pastimes included spending time with family and close friends all summer long at the family ranch in Truckee, California. She also enjoyed genealogy and would talk to anyone who would listen (or just couldn’t get away), fishing, trips she took with her sister, and driving around in her RV.
She is survived by her son Alan (Juneanne) Gergen, Boise, ID; daughter Linda (Roger) Loveless, Bountiful, UT; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister Myrtle Findley, Colfax, CA. Preceded in death by her parents, brother James Bickford, and two great-grandchildren Bryce and Madysen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. May 7, 2014 at the Bountiful Shadows Ward Chapel, 1475 N. 300 W. Bountiful, UT. Friend may visit the family from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Arrangements under the direction of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary. Interment Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, CA.
