Elizabeth Kendell, 86, passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 at Family Tree Assisted Living in West Point.
She was born April 24, 1921 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Paul Rogers.
On November 19, 1951, Elizabeth married Jay Dean Kendell in Carson City, Nevada. He preceded her in death.
She lived most of her life in Roy.
Elizabeth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ogden.
She was a cook for the high school lunch program.
Elizabeth was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a social, outgoing person who had many great friends. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family. She was very strong willed and lived life to the fullest.
Surviving are her daughter, Sheri (Bill) Jackson, Layton; three grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Chatfield, Roy; Heather (Logan) Chadsey, Kaysville; Emily Wilson, Layton; two step-grandchildren, Donna (Adam) Steele, Clinton; Chad (Lashay) Jackson, Syracuse; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is one brother, Bill Rogers, California.
Preceding Elizabeth in death were her husband, brothers and sisters, and great-granddaughter Lily.
The family expresses special thanks to Applegate Hospice and Family Tree Assisted Living for their love and tender care of Elizabeth.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, with the Reverend Dr. Rick Minnich officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, on Friday from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Donations may be made to the Roy Senior Citizens Center.
