Elizabeth "Betty" Pierson Hill Orgill

Our loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, Elizabeth Pierson Hill Orgill, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Betty was born on January 11, 1920 in Rexburg, Idaho, the daughter of George Arthur and Celia Loveland Pierson. She was raised in Ogden and graduated Ogden High School and attended Utah State University.

Betty married Ralph Jesse Hill on December 20, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ralph passed away on August 8, 1975. She married Derwin J. Orgill on January 1, 1977 in Las Vegas, NV. Derwin passed away on February 4, 2008.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully as the Stake Primary President, Ward Relief Society President and as an ordinance worker in the St. George LDS Temple.

Betty was a member of Betty Club, a Daughter of Utah Pioneers, and as active in her sorority where she had many friends.

She loved traveling with Derwin. They put many miles on their cars.

Betty is survived by her son, David and daughter-in-law Phyllis Hill; stepdaughters, Kay Orgill, Diann Ward, Janae Sutton and Nanette Trayler; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands; 2 sons, Doug and Frank; 1 grandson, 2 great-granddaughters and sibling, George A. Jr., Te Rua, Francis, Wesley, Ara, Ron and Doug.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to your favorite charity.
