Elizabeth Ella Kruger Riley Pollock

Elizabeth Ella Kruger Riley Pollock passed away on Friday November 14, 2014 in Clearfield, Utah.

Betty was born in Buck Grove, Iowa on December 19, 1930 to Walter Frederick and Louise Emma Anna Hesse Kruger.

She was raised in and around Denison, Iowa and there met and married George LeRoy Riley on April 9, 1948 and became the parents of Connie Jean and Randy Lee.  After moving to California, she worked at Honeywell Corporation in West Covina until she married Carleton Anselyn Pollock on Feb 23, 1974. Betty and Carl then made their home in Grants Pass, Oregon where they lived for 30 years. In 2004 she moved to Syracuse, Utah to be near her family.

Betty was very social and enjoyed being a member of the “Betty Club” with other women named Betty and also promoted and was a member of the “Red Hat Club”.  She was accomplished at counted x-stitch artwork which she shared and gifted too many friends and family members whom she cared for dearly. She loved to play cards, games and do genealogy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Leslie John August Kruger and his wife Maxine, Robert William Kruger and Wayne Walter Kruger also a brother-in-law Eugene Petersen.

She is survived by her children Connie Jean Riley Davis, Randy Lee Riley, sister Dorothy Petersen, sister-in-laws Delores Kruger and Frances Kruger as well as six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank Betty’s friends and the staff at Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living and also the Hospice nurses and doctors that cared for her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
