Elizabeth Pollak Rothey

Elizabeth Pollak Rothey, 89, rejoined her Heavenly Father, husband and other loved ones on Friday, August 9, 2013, surrounded by her daughters.

She was born in Chicago where she met and married the love of her life, Allan Rothey. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They enjoyed their travels throughout the US and overseas with the Air Force.

Betty enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, gardening and spending time with friends and family. She also learned to play the organ and piano after retiring from her job as a steno and administrative assistant.

Although troubled by severe arthritis and lymphedema for many years, she remained active and continued to drive and shop with her little red shopping cart as long as her health allowed. Her sense of humor and teasing nature will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her daughters, Elizabeth (Ralph) Smith, Frankfurt, Germany; Joanie (Ron) Hadley, Ogden; Erika (Allen) Miller, Anderson, AK; 14 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings, parents and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
