Elizabeth Scheer

Elizabeth Scheer, the only child of Alexander and Clara Simons Van Gelderen, passed away peacefully at Peach Tree Place on September 26, 2013. Known to her friends as Beppy, she was born June 21, 1922 in Amsterdam, Holland. She married Willem Frederik Scheer June 5, 1940 in Amsterdam and they immigrated with their four children to Utah in 1950, where their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS temple. Reared and educated in Holland, she was the mother of nine children, 35 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mom was a lover of life and all it had to offer. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and shared in the joy of their accomplishments. Mom passed her great love of classical music to her children and exemplified the true meaning of ''Family''. We love her and the legacy she left all of us. Elizabeth is survived by Willy and Larry Elliott of Riverdale; Carla and LaGrande Merritt of Farr West; Marijke and William Caron of Pleasant View; A.C. Scheer of Ogden; Ellen and Howard Argyle of West Haven; Dan and Wendy Scheer of West Haven; Pat and Martin Argyle of Garden City; James and Nanette Scheer of Plain City; Les and Kari Scheer of Roy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband & a great grandson. Services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends prior to services from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
