SOUTH JORDAN – Ella Katherine Liechty Cottam, 99, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

She was born May 24, 1918 in Providence, Utah the daughter of John Liechty Jr. and Katherine Sturzenegger Liechty.

Ella married Bennett Cottam on July 25, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He preceded her in death in 1986.

She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in the Primary, Young Womens and 13 years as a Temple Worker.

Ella was an avid quilter, loved knitting and really enjoyed genealogy.  Out of necessity, she did much gardening.

Surviving are her children, Allen (Frances, deceased) Cottam, D. (Linda) Cottam, Elizabeth (Ferrell) Peterson, Leila (Lee) Gyllenskog, Scott (Shannon), 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and three sisters.

Preceded in death by her husband, daughter Katheleen (Lewis) Ruddell, two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery, 325 South 3rd East, Brigham City, Utah.  Friends may visit family Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
