Ella Wilson Bitton Evans, 89, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Legacy House Assisted Living.

Mom was born March 5, 1918 in Randolph, Utah, to John Earl and Loretta Nicholls Wilson. Mom attended school in Randolph and graduated from South Rich High School. She attended the Thomas Dee Memorial Hospital School in Ogden graduating in 1938 with an R.N. Degree.

Ella married Wallace Bitton, and this marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Wallace preceded her in death on May 17, 1945, when his life was taken in Okinawa, Japan. She later married Samuel T. Evans. He preceded her in death in 1979. Her parents and brothers, Stephen Mayo and Ferris Earl, also preceded her in death.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as MIA President, Relief Society counselor, Visiting Teacher, Nursery leader and did Genealogy Library Extraction for several years. She also served as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple for many years. She enjoyed every day she was there.

Ella was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers where she served as Vice Captain and Secretary.

She worked in public health in Rich County and for many years at the Thomas Dee Memorial and McKay-Dee Hospitals. She truly loved helping people.

Surviving are one daughter, Jolene and Hugh of Randolph, UT; two sons, Ronald and Marilyn and Dennis and Dona, all of Ogden; one sister, Reta and Sim Weston, Randolph, UT; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Legacy House in Ogden, and the staff of Applegate Hospice.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.
