Ella M. Hill
SOUTH OGDEN – Ella Martha Mikesell Hill, 89, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Crestwood Care Center.
She was born September 18, 1920 in Porterville, Utah, a daughter of Joseph and Martha Francis Lythgoe Mikesell.
On December 21, 1938, Ella married Duane Walter Hill in Devil’s Slide, Utah. Duane preceded her in death on June 8, 1985.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Ella had many pen pals throughout the years. She enjoyed making quilts and other craft projects. Most of all, Ella was a great mom who loved her family so very much.
Surviving are four sons and one daughter, Allen D. (Nancy) Hill, Richard L. (Carol) Hill, Terry W. (Cheryl) Hill, David J. Hill, Donna Rae (Randall) Durkee; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Abbott (Nancy) Mikesell, Darrell (Arnell) Mikesell, Roy (Pat) Mikesell, Betsy Mikesell and Joy (Bruce) Snethan.
Preceding Ella in death were her parents, husband, daughter Della Jean Johnson and two brothers, Stanley Mikesell and Richard Mikesell.
The family expresses thanks to Crestwood Care Center and Legacy Hospice for their wonderful care. Special thanks to Cheryl Tilly, who our mother always credited for saving her life.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Dale Rumsey officiating.
Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
