Ella M. Hoelzer
November 5, 1918 ~ June 2, 2015
NORTH OGDEN – Ella Marie Buckley Hoelzer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at her daughter’s home. She was born on November 5, 1918 in Joliet, Illinois, daughter of John William Buckley and Ella Francis Brockway.
Ella married Warren Edwin Hoelzer on September 9, 1937 in Crownpoint, Indiana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 24, 1952.
They raised the family in Joliet, Illinois. Ella and Warren received the invitation of the proselyting Mormon missionaries and were baptized on June 24, 1951. She served as the Relief Society President of the Joliet, Illinois Branch for 15 years.
Upon retirement she moved to Orem. She served as an ordinance worker in the Provo LDS Temple for 10 years also in the Spanish Extraction Program for 17 years.
Ella is survived by one son, Dr. Clifford (Joyce) Hoelzer, Mesa, AZ; daughter, Carole (Steve) Obray, North Ogden, UT; brother, Vernon (Alice) Buckley, San Bernadino, CA; 13 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Hoelzer; one son, Roland Hoelzer; brothers, Edwin and Earl, and sister, Shirley.
A private graveside service will be held in Paradise, Utah. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
