Ella Charmaine McFarland

Ella Charmaine McFarland, 83, passed away on February 28, 2024, from numerous health issues. She was born on March 24, 1940, to Ella (Rhodes) and Raymond Maltby. She grew up in Ogden and has fond memories of ballet, friends in the neighborhood, Lorin Farr Park and the pool there. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School. 

She married Gary Greer in 1962, and together they had two children, Paula and Wayne. They later divorced. In 1997, she married Dennis McFarland. He had two children, Lance and Missy. She moved to Denny’s home in Huntsville. She worked at Chromalox until her retirement. 

Throughout her life she was always involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and was supportive of their activities and special events. She liked the outdoors and enjoyed working in the yard, camping, traveling, and accompanying Denny in the tractor doing daily jobs with him. She was not afraid of hard work and showed persistence in the face of challenges. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was up for many adventures. We all have many stories and memories of our time spent with her. She was loving, fun, and sassy and will be missed by many. 

Char is survived by husband, Dennis; children, Paula (Curtis) Price, Wayne (Tracy) Greer, Lance McFarland, and Missy Wasserman; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kody Greer; parents; and mother-in-law, Athlene Greenwell. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
