KAYSVILLE a€" Our mother, Ella D Adams Flint McGlinch completed her life''s journey on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the age of 97. Just a few of the titles she earned during her years on earth include: loving mother; beloved wife; devoted daughter; caring sister; adoring aunt; dedicated friend; proud grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother; and matriarch of the Flint/McGlinch families.

Ella D was born in Layton, Utah, on February 8, 1914 to Rufus William and Elizabeth Dunn Adams, the sixth of eight children. All of her siblings preceded her in death. She married Elmer Flint in 1933. They had three children, Lou Jean, Margaret and Cynthia. They later divorced. She married Henry McGlinch in 1947. His daughter Carol became a part of the family. Ella D and Henry had a fifth daughter, Christine.

Ella D''s life was centered on her family, church and community. Her influence can be seen in the lives of her family and friends who felt loved and lifted by her presence. She possessed a deep and abiding testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served two missions and later served as an Ordinance Worker in the Bountiful Temple from the time it opened in 1995 until July 16, 2009.

She was employed by First Security Bank and her work was hallmarked by breaking gender barriers when she was promoted to the position of Bank Manager.

Ella D and Henry loved to travel and they had many adventures together while visiting every continent. They were member of the Kaysville Jaycee''s which later became a group of friends known as the Exhausted Roosters and Hens. She was a member of the: Athena Club; several bridge clubs; literary club; and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She is survived by her daughters: Lou Jean Flint; Margaret Pappas (George); Cynthia Webb (Mike); and Carol Krahl (Craig). Her family has grown to include 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry McGlinch and daughter Christine Barlow.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

Prior to her passing, Ella D requested that in lieu of flowers a contribution be made in her name and mailed to the Moran Eye Center, ATTN: Eve Leclaire, 65 Mario Capecchi Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84132.
