KAYSVILLE – Ella Korth Sherwood, 93, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center of causes incident to age.
Ella was born February 9, 1916 in Brigham City, Utah to William and Rebecca Olsen Korth. She married Reuben M. Sherwood on July 12, 1946 in Cedar City, Utah, and was later sealed in the Ogden Temple. They made their home in Kaysville, Utah.
Ella was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City and later graduated from Excelsus Beauty School in Salt Lake City.
She worked at Hill AFB in the accounting and finance department and after she retired, she and Reuben traveled and would spend the winters in Arizona.
Ella loved to work with her hands, sewing, knitting, and making beautiful quilts, and she also enjoyed working in her yard with flowers and gardening.
Ella is survived by her nieces and nephews, her brother-in-law, Reed, and two sisters-in-law, Zelma and Mildred. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Ernest W. Korth, Ray C. Korth, and Glenn M. Korth; and her sisters Rebecca Mae Korth and Vera K. Poirier.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and aids from Rocky Mountain Care and Applegate Hospice for the care of Ella.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main Street where friends and family may gather from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
