Ellen Irena Tracy Eddy

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Ellen “Dude,” 96, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 3, 2014. She was the oldest child born to Earl Thomas and Irene Hinkley Tracy on July 16, 1917 in Ogden. Ellen lived her entire life in Ogden.
She married Franklin L. Eddy, Sr. on February 23, 1935 in Ogden. Franklin passed away after 33 years of marriage on April 13, 1968.
Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in Relief Society and as a visiting teacher. Family was most important to her.
Ellen is survived by her sons, Thomas E. (Carolyn) Eddy, E. R. Eddy, and Leon T. (Karen) Eddy; daughters, Elaine E. Shomer, Joyce A. (Steven) Dobbins, and Sherida I. (Robert) Crosbie; brother, Jack (Ethel) Merrill; sisters-in-law, Wilma Tracy and Eva Tracy; 25 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son and daughter-in-law, Frank Jr. and Anita; two grandsons, Chris and Carl Eddy; son-in-law, Kenneth Shomer; great-granddaughter, Addison Miller; her parents, her brothers, Robert “Bob,” Owen “Bud,” and Michael “Hit;” and sisters, Iola “Sweet” Johnson, Anna Liddicote, and Joy “Nap” Clark.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
