SOUTH OGDEN a€" Our dear mother, Ellen H. Kelley, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008, of natural causes, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 24, 1922 to John and Pauline Warburton Hadfield, in Grouse Creek, Utah.

On December 19, 1947, Ellen married Charles R. Kelley, in Brigham City, Utah, and he remained the love of her life for 60 years. They later resided in Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah and spent a short time in the Philippines.

While attending Weber College, Ellen was a member of the La Dianida Sorority and enjoyed drama and music. Ellen''s professional career included employment at Bushnell General Hospital, the United States War Assets Administration and TRW Systems.

Ellen and Charles enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with friends and family. Ellen never lost her zest for life and passion for reading, as well as enthusiasm for following her favorite sports. Although Ellen endured many difficult health issues, she never lost her dignity, compassion or love for her family. She was always available to listen and provide comfort to others and we will miss the loving support she offered.

Ellen is survived by a son, Mike (Gayle) Kelley, three daughters, Sharon (Scott) Hurst, Julie (Doug) Burch, Laurie (Mike) Brown, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Emily Hadfield, Mary Mann, and three brothers, Jack, Reed and Richard Hadfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, two brothers, Herman and Delbert Hadfield, and a sister, Thelma Olsen.

The family appreciates the caregivers at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living, especially the special care given by Carli and Pam.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
