Ellen Mae Munns Manning
She was born May 19, 1925 in Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of Charles A. and
Rowena R. Munns, sister to Gene and CR Munns. She married Melvin L. Manning Aug. 13, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. She graduated from Utah State University in 1947.
She was an active, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She served in many positions in the church. She cherished her callings in the Relief Society (ward & stake), Primary, Young Women's, Sunday School, and as a Bishop's wife.
She was highly admired for the 30 years she touched the lives of so many young girls and boys as an elementary school teacher for the Davis School District.
She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She always said they were her most precious gifts. She loved them unconditionally and was their most devoted fan at all their activities.
Our family has been honored to have had such a great lady as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her example of kindness, love, charity while serving the Lord and others will be a guiding light in our lives. Her life was a service to others with little concern for herself. She was loved by all and returned to her Heavenly Father with dignity and honor. She will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
She is preceded in death and now united with her loving husband and friend of 70 years to whom she devoted her life in support and service and her granddaughter Jennifer Manning. She is survived by her cherished and deeply loved children: Susan Kaye (David) Heath, Kaysville, UT.; Debra Jo (David) Robinson Centerville, UT.; Michael Leroy (Jackie) Manning, Centerville, UT; Robert Charles Manning, Chicago, IL.; and sister Gene (Wayne) Rich, Logan, UT., 16 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.
