Ellen Wells

Our wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend returned to her heavenly father the morning of April 14, 2015. She was greeted on the other side by her beautiful daughter Christy and her loving Grandma. She was surrounded by family when she passed from this life.

Ellen was born July 18, 1944 in Ogden Utah to Viola Dell Miller. Ellen started working at JB’s Big Boy where she met the man of her dreams, Sheldon Wells, while she was a waitress and he was a bus boy. They fell head over heels in love and were married on Nov 5, 1964. On May 26, 1995, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple to their beautiful girls. Sheldon and Ellen together created a loving caring home for their girls. Though they were only blessed with 3 daughters they had so many more children that thought of them as parents. Our home was always filled with laughter and love.

After Ellen had her third child she started doing daycare from home so that she would be able to be there for her girls whenever they needed her. She loved children and was always saddened that she could not have more. When asked what her greatest achievement and fondest memory was, the answer was the same, the day that she became a Grandma to Dustin, Thomas and Scotty. She loved being a mom however she would always say that she was put on Earth to be a grandma.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, her caring daughters Shelley (David) Kelly, Kimberly Taylor, her adoptive daughter Jessica Bennion, her adoptive sons Bobby (Heidi) Horger, Cody (Laura) Christensen and Jonathan Taylor, her brothers Jim (Katie) Christensen and Bill (Sunday) Christensen, her three grandsons Dustin, Thomas and Scotty, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Lee Wells, mother Viola Miller Christensen, grandmother Florence and grandfather Clarence Miller, brother David Christensen, sister Lorraine Webster and best friend Tony Bailey.

We would like to extend a great thank you to Mt Olympus Rehab center where they took such great care of our mother for the past 2 years and to St Mark’s hospital for making her last days pleasant for the family.
