Elma E. Zimmerman

SOUTH OGDEN – Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the age of 93. Elma was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, in December of 1917, a daughter of Jacob and Mary. She married Otto Zimmerman. Otto preceded her in death on September 29, 1990. Elma was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational. In her younger years, she worked at a Naval Ship Yard. She later owned a restaurant and was well known for her pie baking. Elma enjoyed raising her family and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Monty Smith; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding Elma in death were her husband Otto, son, James Zimmerman, her parents and brothers and sisters. The family expresses special thanks to Hospice For Utah, Manor Care Nursing Center and Aspen Care Center. Memorial services will be held Monday, February 28th at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 3350 Harrison Blvd. Inurnment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
