Elmer A. Isaacson

Elmer A. Isaacson TAYLOR – Elmer Andrew Isaacson, 87, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2007. He was born November 9, 1919, in Taylor, Utah, the youngest child of Charles and Christina Isaacson. Except for a few years in the military, Taylor was the place he called home. On November 5, 1941, he married LuJean Hull in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked for the Weber County Fire Department and was serving as chief when he retired. He and his wife, LuJean, also owned and operated a little country store called Ike’s Grocery for several years. Elmer was well-known for his beautiful gardens, his willingness to help wherever he was needed, his homemade Christmas gifts, and his clever sense of humor. He found great pleasure in spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at play. He also enjoyed traveling and camping with good friends. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a counselor in the Taylor 1st Ward Bishopric and volunteered at the Family History Center. He especially enjoyed his years of hiking with the scouts and working at the Taylor Welfare Farm. He was an honest man who taught integrity by example. After the loss of his wife, LuJean, Elmer married Helen Olney in April of 1992. They enjoyed visiting relatives, traveling, and sitting in their lawn chairs in the yard, watching the birds, the goats, and the cars driving by. Elmer is survived by his wife, Helen, three sons, Jerry (Kaarina) Isaacson, Ron (Kim) Isaacson, Jeff (Jana) Isaacson, and two daughters, Judy (Allen) Cummings and Janet (Richard) Howard, 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Taylor 3rd Ward Chapel, 2200 South 4300 West. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
