Elmer J. “Bob” Winter
“Together Again”
Bob Winter, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at George E. Wahlen Ogden Veteran’s Home.
Bob was born on May 8, 1926 in Huntsville, Utah the son of Elmer Jens and Thelma May Wright Winter. Bob grew up in Huntsville, Utah in the Winters Grove Homestead. He graduated from Weber High and went into the military. After serving his country, Bob went to work at DDO and then on to H.A.F.B. where he retired after 40 years. Bob married Ethel May Tulane on March 10, 1951 in Ogden.
He is survived by his daughter Patti (Rick) Phippen, Ogden, Utah; three grandchildren, Rob, Mike and Jen; a great-granddaughter Marissa, one sister Beverly (Weston) Hirschi, brother-in-law Jewel Richardson, and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife May, daughter Lori Kay Winter, and sister Margaret Richardson.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. Friends may visit family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
We would like to thank Dr. Mark Baxter and Terri Porter for their years of love and care. Washington Terrace Health Services and George E. Wahlen Veteran’s Home for the great care they provided. Hearts for Hospice for making the last two years of dad’s life the best that it could be. You have all become family through this and are greatly appreciated. Nancy Richardson for always being there.
