Elmina "Nina" Madsen Egbert

June 4, 1939 — April 3, 2023

Our kind and fun-loving mom and grandma Elmina “Nina” Madsen Egbert, most recently of Mesa, Arizona, passed away April 3, 2023 at age 83 due to incidents of age.

Nina was born June 4, 1939 in Springville, Utah to Jay Parley and Elmina Mendenhall Madsen. She had two brothers, Lloyd and Gary, and a sister, Lynette, who all preceded her in death. She loved and missed them, but now they are reunited.

Nina was very involved in school and attended BYU. She was in plays, was a class officer, and had a great group of friends that she still got together with regularly. She was a very outgoing person who made friends easily. She always had a great laugh and cared about what was going on in others’ lives. She loved to shop, bake, make crafts, sing, and serve in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially loved to teach the gospel. She had a testimony of its truth to the end.

Nina married Richard “Dick” Egbert October 27, 1961 in Springville, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1980. They lived in Woods Cross, Bountiful, and Fruit Heights, Utah. They spent many happy years together playing games with family and friends, traveling, camping, and being snowbirds. Nina loved to have people over and was famous for her 4th of July breakfast, her amazing rolls, and Christmas parties.

Nina leaves behind four children whom she loved dearly: Kelly (Mary) Egbert of Rockledge, FL; Keith (Crystal) Egbert of Rock Springs, WY; LeeAnn (Phil) Bohman of Mesa, AZ; and Heather (Jon) Oldham of Draper, UT; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, parents, and siblings.
