Elmo J. "Moe" Creager, 85, beloved husband, father, brother and papa, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Heritage Park Care Center in Roy.
He was born March 9, 1926 to Ira and Viney May Carter Creager in Morgan, Utah.
Elmo was raised in Morgan and graduated from Morgan High School before serving in Europe in World War II. After returning, he married Virginia Mecham and moved to the Ogden area. They had two children, Roger and Debbie. They later divorced.
Elmo met and married Betty Watkins, and they had one daughter, Nettie Marie, and he raised his step-son John William and lived in Washington Terrace.
Elmo worked various jobs truck driving and retired from Herman Brothers, before moving to Riverdale.
He was a member of the LDS Church. Elmo loved spending time with his family, woodworking, reading and making hats and scarves that he donated.
He is survived by his son, Roger (Renae) Creager, Hooper; two daughters, Debbie (Cliff) Ganske, Sedro Wooley, WA; Nettie (Russell) Livermore, Clinton. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one brother, Wendell Creager of Arizona and one sister, Thelda Pomeroy of Ogden.
Preceeded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Betty, step-son, John, and three sisters, Vera, Lela and Bernice.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 27th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
