Elna S. Picard
On the afternoon of March 12th, 2008 a wonderful woman went home to be with Jesus. Elna S. Picard had been battling a stroke that occurred Monday afternoon & was in the care of McKay-Dee hospital Ogden, Utah. Elna was born April 30, 1915 at her Grandmother’s home in Cororant, Minn. Elna was born to Eddie & Lucille Tollefsrud. Elna went to school in Pine River, Mn., Hinsdale, Colwry, & Wolf Point, Mont. She later graduated from college in Havre, Mont. While teaching at a country school outside Bainville, Mont., she married Lavern Picard on January 19, 1941. They built a wonderful family together of one daughter (Vicki), & four boys (Kay, Ronnie, Lee, & Bill).
Elna was loved & cherished by everyone she came in contact with. She had a passion for people. A loving & caring heart goes without saying. The values she possessed were second to none. She was an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. This is one person that words cannot explain how extremely wonderful she was.
Elna is survived by daughter Vicki (Larry) in Oconto, Wi., son Ronnie (June) in SLC, Ut., son Lee (Charmaine) in San Miguel, Ca., & son Bill (Brenda) in Kaysville, Ut. Sixteen grandchildren & seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her oldest son Kay & husband Vernie
Funeral services will be Saturday Mar.22nd 2008 at the Bainville, MT school gymnasium @ Noon. Viewing will start at 11:00 AM. Graveside service will be at the Bainville Cemetery after which fellowship & lunch will be back at the Bainville gymnasium. Pastor Lee Picard will be conducting. A memorial has been set up with Everson Funeral Home in Williston, ND.
