Elnora Messina “Love You, Mom” Elnora Messina passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2011. She was born on April 2, 1920 to Archie James and Ruth MacFarlane Gale in Cedar City, Utah Elnora was raised in Ogden, Utah until the age of 25, at which time she moved to Southern California where she met and married Anthony Messina. They resided in California for 41 years where they raised two children, Stephen Anthony and Julie Ann. After retirement, they built a home in Rockville, Utah. When Tony passed away in 2001, Elnora continued to live there until 2008. At which time, she went to live with her daughter. Elnora had such a sense of fun and was friendly to one and all. She devoted her adult life to service in the LDS church serving as Primary President, Young Women’s President, and Relief Society President as well as being a dedicated Visiting Teacher throughout the years. She also had a passion for singing in her ward choir. Elnora was always willing to help those in need and saw the good in everyone. She had a very kind and generous nature. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face. She was a wonderful cook and was known especially for her pie making abilities. Elnora loved to read, going out to the movies, going to Disneyland, and playing card games. She also loved playing Yahtzee and the Train Game. Those were her favorites. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by many but her spirit will live on in the lives of those who loved her. Till we meet again. Elnora is survived by her daughter Julie Messina, Farmington, Utah; her sister Bonnie (Jeff) Carrel, Layton, Utah; her daughter-in-law Terry Messina, Sparks, Nevada; and her granddaughter Jodie Messina, Reno, Nevada; as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Anthony Messina, her son Stephen, and three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
