Eloise Adams Johnson 1923-2007

Eloise Adams Johnson died October 22, 2007, at the age of 84. She had cancer, diabetes, and Parkinson''s disease.

She was born July 26, 1923 in North Platte, Nebraska, daughter of Lester J. Adams and Edith Siebold Adams. In 1938, the family moved to Ogden, where she graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College. During World War II she worked at Hill Air Force Base. After the war she began work for Union Pacific Railroad, from which she retired in 1980 as Human Resources Manager for the Idaho, Wyoming and Utah divisions.

In 1948 she married Mason O. Myers. They had two sons, and were later divorced. In 1980 she married J. Russell Johnson; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple. He died June 23, 2001.

She is survived by two sons, Brent M. and Bruce L. (MiKyung) Myers, both of Salt Lake City, and four grandchildren: Christopher Myers (Sean Keogh), Jersey City, New Jersey, and Micah, Jonathan, and Wyatt Myers, all of Salt Lake City; two step-children, Janice Vanderkooi (Steven), Pocatello, Idaho, and J. Russell Johnson II (Kimberly), Cincinnati, Ohio; six step-children: Nancy Prescott (Larry), Michael, Scott (Gina) and Stacy Vanderkooi, Rebecca Nelson (Anthony), Seth Johnson, and seven step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eloise''s memory can be made to The American Parkinson''s Disease Association, Northern Utah Chapter, University of Utah, 30 N. 1900 E. Salt Lake City, Utah 84132; 801-585-2354.

Services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 2 pm, at the Cottonwood 16th Ward Chapel, 1750 E. Spring Lane, where friends may call from 1:00-1:45 pm. Graveside services will be held at the Washington Heights Memorial Mausoleum, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden at approximately 4 pm.
