Elorn Krebs Marsing
OGDEN a" Elorn Krebs Marsing, 90, died Friday, May 13, 2011 in Clearfield, Utah.
Elorn was born June 5, 1920 to Robert Wade Krebs and Zina Marie Webb in Ioka, Duchesne County, Utah. She was raised in Ioka and graduated from Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah. She went on to graduate from Brigham Young University in 1942 where she majored in Home Economics. She taught in the Duchesne County and Ogden City schools. She also worked in the Ogden City School''s lunch program where she was the kitchen manager at Lynn Elementary School prior to her retirement.
While teaching high school in Duchesne, Utah, she met her future husband, Donald Carl Marsing. On September 1, 1943, they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Elorn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in numerous positions in the Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society organizations in the Ogden 3rd, 10th and 46th Wards. She descended from a great heritage of early converts to the LDS Church and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and temple work.
Surviving are her children, Linda F. (William) Maxwell, Carl N. (Lorene) Marsing, Dennis R. (Laraine) Marsing, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Delma K. Culp, one brother, Jess S. Krebs, and one granddaughter, Carla Maxwell.
Family members would like to thank the staffs at Stoney Brooke Assisted Living, Riverdale, Utah; Chancellor Gardens of Clearfield; and Access Hospice Care.
Funeral services for Elorn will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may visit with the family at the mortuary on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
