Elva LaVon Horspool

Elva LaVon Horspool, 92, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022.

She was born March 13, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Horace A. Barnes and Viola Garner.

On April; 26, 1947, LaVon married Charles H. Horspool, Jr. in Ogden, Utah.  He preceded her in death April 23, 1982.

LaVon is survived by her children, Christine H. (Ken) Ward, Cotton Valley, LA; Eileen Chavez, Roy; Karen (Dennis ) Varney, Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, David and Robert Horspool, one daughter, Linda Branz, two sisters, Coleta Horspool, Jean Hansen and one brother, Archie Barnes.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Ogden City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
