Elvin served as a Utah Highway Patrolman for 16 years. He enjoyed law enforcement and loved helping people that found themselves in need of help. Elvin and his brother Ray founded North Davis Cabinet in 1966. They excelled in operating and managing the business. It grew into a healthy manufacturing company that is still successful today. He retired in 2000 and enjoyed working on his farm and traveling. Elvin and Sharrie traveled to many different places. Thailand was his favorite!!
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved reading and studying. He crossed-reference many books in his studying of the gospel. He especially enjoyed attending the temple.
Elvin hunted, fished, camped, and loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed ranching, farming and riding his horses. He loved showing all his farm animals to the students from the local elementary that would walk down for their field trips.
He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandkids. When visiting Gramps, the kids and grandkids enjoyed listening to stories, eating ice cream and getting hugs and kisses. Elvin had a keen sense of humor and always had everyone laughing. He was blessed to keep his sense of humor until the very end! Elvin loved serving others in his neighborhood. Throughout his lifetime he helped many people improve their lives.
