He was born on October 10, 1942 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Elvin J. and Madilyn Dallinga Richardson.

Elvin worked at Defense Depot of Ogden for 30 years and retired from inventory control at Hill Air Force Base.
Elvin really enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family, whether it was hunting, fishing or just taking in the views on his 4-wheeler. He instilled a great work ethic with all his children just by his example alone. He lured us all in by his legendary Saturday breakfasts, that’s really how he got us up to get our work started.
Elvin is survived by his wife, Rosalee Kay Richardson; sons, Kirk (Elena), James, and Mark (Shelby); daughters, Roxane (Bill) Colburn, LaNae (Jeff) Dabb, Jelene (Craig) Trewet, and Susan (Jay) Orton; stepchildren, Daren Farr, Roy (Emma) Lee and Lisa (Mauro) Lasao, and Kayleen (Marvin) Wright; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Richardson and Lewis (Marie); and sister, Estella Blair. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Kent and Johnny Richardson.
