Elwood Kellos
OGDEN a" On June 23, 2010, Elwood Kellos, loving father and husband, passed away at age 90 at the McKay-Dee Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1920 in Ogden, the son of John and Carrie Andersen Kellos. He grew up working on the family farm on 9th street and remained a life-long resident of Ogden.
Elwood was raised during the Great Depression. He enjoyed working as a chauffeur for the Post Master of Ogden before entering the military. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He married Dorothy Fabian on April 19, 1947.
He worked as a brick mason for many years and built many buildings in Utah. He later worked at the Defense Mapping Agency, but he always remained the most proud of his masonry career.
While work was very important him, Elwood most enjoyed tending his yard and garden, spending time with his family, and going on vacations. He loved the home that he built.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, his son Paul, his daughter Dorothy Jean Hill, his sister Elsie Robinson, and his grandson John Hill.
Preceding Elwood in death were his parents John and Carrie, his son-in-law Rolan Hill, his brothers, George, John, Hyrum, Roy, and Frank, and one sister Evelyn Walker.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Russell Hansen, officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
