Emiko Watanabe Goodrich

Emiko “Emi” Watanabe Goodrich, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the home of her niece Sharon (Bob) Knapp, in Pleasant View, Utah.
Emi was born in Ogden, Utah to Tomesaku Watanabe and Tatsu Sakuma on December 25, 1924. She attended school in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Weber State College. She worked as a secretary for many years at various businesses.
Following her residence in California for many years, Emi chose to move back to Utah. She resided with her niece, Sharon, in Pleasant View. She was lovingly cared for by Sharon and her family for the next 15 years. During that time, Emi experienced the love of family. Birthday and holiday gatherings brought her closer to her great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Many of life’s lessons were learned by this time spent together. Emi especially enjoyed being surrounded by her great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Emi will be lovingly remembered by her niece Sharon and her family.
Emi is survived by her sister Kuniko Kobayashi, her niece Sharon Sadako (Bob) Knapp, four great-nieces, three great-nephews; and many other great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Minoru, and her sister Masako.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
Emi’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Registered Nurses Barbara and Nicole and CNAs Lisa and Sydney from Bristol Hospice, for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Primary Children’s Hospital in memory of Emi.
