Emily Marie Kay

1922-2014

Emily Marie Kay, 91, passed away February 14, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by family.

She was born December 1, 1922 in Price, Utah the daughter of Afton James and Margareta Carolina Vieweg Kroll.  Married Robert Chester Kay on November 25, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah, later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Emily was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including Cub Scouts.  She served with the Davis County Senior Citizens and for 56 years with the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, ceramics and camping.

She is survived by her children Carol J. Jordan (James), Collins, MS; Richard C. Kay (Shawna), Buffalo, NY; Thomas L. Kay (Kathryn), Bountiful, UT; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren;  also survived by sisters Beth Atherley and Lois Vincent.  Preceded in death by her husband Robert, brother A. James Kroll Jr. and sister Beverly Jones.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Mueller Park 2nd Ward Chapel, 1825 S. 800 E. Bountiful, Utah.  Friends may visit family Mon. Feb. 17th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the Church. Interment Lindquist’s Memorial Park Layton.
