Emily Eunice Marble Spencer
October 6, 1934 ~ December 23, 2021
Emily Eunice (Marble) Spencer, daughter of Russell Benjamin and Emily Bethina (Lay) Marble was born in Central, Sevier County, Utah and then moved with her family to Ogden, Utah where she attended Ogden High School.
Our very beloved sister, mother and grandmother stepped through the veil at age 87 years on December 23, 2021.
Emily married Sheldon Joseph Spencer, “Shelley” on December 18, 1953. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1974.
Emily was the 9th of 10 children. She is survived by two brothers, Golden Frank Marble and Stephen Grant Marble; and by her six children, Bob Ladle (Kelly Crockett), Tracy Lynn (Jackie Elus) Spencer, Lora Beth Spencer-Baker, Cindy Jo Spencer, Kendell Wayne (Yadira Aguilar) Spencer and Trena Ann (Myron) Baker and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in the church. She served in the Washington D.C. Temple Mission and served as a temple ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple for many years after her mission. She retired with an 18-year career at Hill Air Force Base.
Emily loved to read and to crochet, most of all she loved her family and her friends. She loved Christmas. She was an ordinary person who lived in an extraordinary way and touched many lives. She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84401. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., next to her beloved husband, Sheldon Spencer.
