Emma Lea Battagliotti, 98, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014. She was born on April 26, 1916 in Hiawatha, Utah, the daughter of Concetta Maria Perri and Felice William Gigliotti .
Emma married John Joseph Battagliotti on November 29, 1935 in Price, Utah. John passed away on May 31, 1993.
Emma was a lifelong student and teacher of the arts, honored in 1994 by The Utah World Organization of China Painters Convention Special Grand Prize for painted china and Utah’s Honored Artist.
Emma was a devoted sister, preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters: Steve Gigliotti; Ross Gigliotti; Emilio Gigliotti; Franklin “Jiggs” Gigliotti; Robert Gigliotti; Anellina “Nellie” Marrelli; Adella “Della” Gigliotti and Lenora “Liberty” Truscott.
Emma is survived by her son, Jerry Battagliotti, Los Angeles, California; daughter, Joanna Metcalfe, North Haven, ME; and grandchildren, Tobias McKenzie; Gabriel McKenzie; Erin McKenzie along with numerous nieces and nephews who continued to bring her joy and love throughout her long and generous life.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
