Emma Jane Hipwell Davies

October 14, 1933 ~ November 26, 2016

Emma Jane Hipwell Davies passed away on November 26, 2016.  Mom was born to Willis Thomas and Lois Wade Hipwell on October 14, 1933 in Ogden, Utah.  Mom grew up in West Weber and attended Weber High where she excelled academically.  Mom played softball as a girl and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mom was an instrument repair technician at HAFB for 30 years.  During which time she was transferred to McClellan AFB in Sacramento for 11 years.  Mom then moved back to Utah and retired here with her family close by.

Mom was an avid reader who also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, softball, gaming, and embroidery.  Mom had a wonderful sense of humor and wasn’t shy about saying what was on her mind.

Mom lives on through her three daughters and one son, Valorie D. (Brent) Stewart, Trena Davies, Jayne Davies McComb, and Ronald H. Davies; ten grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Ray Hipwell, LaVaun Lund, Keith Hipwell, and Carol Lloyd.  Mom was preceded in death by one sister, one grandson, two great-grandsons, and one brother-in-law.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the West Weber Cemetery.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
