Emma Kathleen Kroner

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Emma Kathleen Kroner, 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Ogden, Utah, on February 15, 1951, the daughter of Jerry D. and Norma Mae Olsen Mangum. Emma grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. She spent most of her life in Salt Lake City, before moving to Ogden for the last 6 years.

In 1970, Emma married Craig Dangerfield in Salt Lake City, UT. Together they had two beautiful daughters. Years later, they divorced. In November 1989, she married her sweetheart, Josef Milan Kroner, in Weber County, UT. They enjoyed 26 years together until Josef’s passing on September 17, 2016.

Emma received her key punch data entry certification, but was most proud of being a mother. Emma was very talented and enjoyed painting, crocheting, and sewing. She also took pleasure in playing bingo, shopping, playing cards and board games, and her trips to Wendover.

She is known for her kindness, sense of humor, love of people and cats. We will miss her smile, her daily phone calls, her outpouring of love and concern for others, and our family picnics.

Emma is survived by her daughters, Becky (Aaron) East of Farr West, and Lisa (Nate) Crandall of Saratoga Springs; stepson, Tomas (Susie) Kroner of Henderson, NV; 11 wonderful grandchildren that she was so proud of; brothers, Dan Mangum of Salt Lake City, and Corey (Stacey) Mangum of Bothell, WA; sister, Chris Kasai of Sandy; and her Kitty, Minnie Sue. She was preceded in death by her husband, Josef Kroner; parents, Jerry and Norma Mangum; and sister, Connie Carlton.

The family would like to thank the staff of Season’s Assisted Living Center for the loving care they provided. Emma referred to the staff as her friends.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, UT. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 3115 Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, UT.
