Emma Marie Allen Love, 95, of Layton passed away at home on July 29, 2016.

She was born March 31, 1921 to Joseph Archie and Emma Evans Allen in Layton, Utah.

She married Ennies Love on May 4, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming.  Their vows were solemnized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Salt Lake Temple on May 4, 1964.

She would walk two miles to get to elementary school in Layton, then later rode the Bamberger train to Davis High and back.  She graduated from Davis High School in 1939.

She worked at Staley’s Grocery in West Layton and later at Farmers Union, O.P. Skaggs, Adams Grocery, Barlow’s in Clearfield and The Lockhart Co. in Clearfield.  She also worked at Earl Butters Insurance in Layton and she and Ennies decorated weddings for a few years. She was the President of the Clearfield New Horizon Chapter of Credit Women International.

She was active in the LDS Church. She and Ennies were door greeters for 25 years.  She was a primary teacher, a Young Womens President and also a visiting teacher.

She is survived by her daughter Marlene Love (Noel Phister, deceased), grandchildren Sheryl Longfellow, Susan (Darren) Hincks, Shelli (Dennis) Gardner, Ryan Brent Love, Kimberly Love (Travis Stoddard) Manore, step-grandchildren Tina Stevenson and Raymond Noel Phister, 15 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Ennies Love, son Brent E. Love, son-in-law Noel Phister, brothers J. Kenneth, Elmer (Red), Floyd C., Thomas H., Vaughn E., Max E. Allen, Alene Furniss, Beatrice Freckleton and Lueen Brooks.

A special thanks to Carla, Bona and Leesa at Bristol Hospice and thanks to Brenda and Valerie at Interim Health Care. Also a special thanks to her walking partner Rhea Webber.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
