LAYTON – Ennies Love of Layton died Friday, April 25, 2014 at the George Wahlen V.A. Home in Ogden, UT.
He was born March 7, 1922 in Layton to Hugh and Cora Irene Adams Love. He married Marie Allen on May 4, 1942 in Evanston, WY. Their vows were solemnized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on May 4, 1964.
Ennies attended David High School and Stevens-Henager College. He served in the Army Air Force with more than two years in India. He worked for Woods Cross Canning Co. and Hill Air Force Base, retiring after 37 years. At HAFB he received 85 hours of school on radiation, worked in maintenance supply, civil engineering and 13 years in the water treatment plant. He received the Sustained Superior Performance Award at HAFB. He also worked for Dick Adams Storage and Trailers.
Active in the LDS Church, he served 25 years as ward executive secretary and secretary to the elders quorum and high priests. He served for many years as door greeter in the ward. His interests were fill in puzzles, horses, camping, golfing, meeting new people and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter Marlene Love Phister (Noel); grandchildren: Sheryl Longfellow (Reece), Susan Hincks (Darren), Shelli Gardner (Dennis), Ryan Brent Love, Kimberly Love Manore; step-grandchildren Tina Stevenson, Raymond Noel Phister; 15 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, his son Brent, brothers Newell and Fairen, and his sister Ruth.
Funeral services will be held Saturday May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where friends may visit with family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
