OGDEN a€" Epifanio Gilberto Gallegos, 75, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side.

He was born June 5, 1933 in Monticello, Utah, a son of Manuel Pablito and Bisintita Jaramillo Gallegos. He later moved to Ogden where he lived for the remainder of his life.

Epifanio married Joyce Fassotte on September 11, 1965 in Ogden. They were later divorced. They had seven beautiful children.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ogden.

Epifanio served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. After which he was honorably discharged.

After working as a truck driver he became employed as a civil service employee at DDO where he retired in 1997. Epifanio was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He also loved to ride and be around horses, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Michael Gallegos, Ogden; Anthony (Dawn) Gallegos, Roy; Daniel (Alina) Gallegos, Ogden; M. Teresa (Richard) Fulton, Prince George, VA; Margarita Twitchell, Alicia (Dezi) Gallegos, both of Clinton; and 13 grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Benito Gallegos, Ogden; Josie Garcia, North Ogden; Mary Alice Gallegos, Portland, OR.

Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter, Patricia, grandson, Angelo, and sister, Gloria.

We would like to thank Dr. Gray, his staff and all the nurses, hospice and other staff at Mckay Dee Hospital for all their loving care.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison Blvd., with Father Eric officiating.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
