Eric John Martinez

Eric John Martinez, 65, of Roy Utah, passed away on November 19, 2016 due to complications of Parkinson's disease.

Born in Ogden, Utah to Maria Porfiria Martinez, he lived most of his life in Ogden. He was married to Cordelia Lopez from 1969 to 1977, and Jeanetta DeVries from 1978 to 1999.

Eric was extremely proud of his children, Eric John Martinez, Jr., Andrea Vanessa Martinez, Candice Maria Brown, Alexander Jay Martinez and Veronica Katie Martinez. He has eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson to born any day, and countless nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his sister, LaDean Barela, Frances (Ted) Martinez, Elizabeth Orosco-Thompson, and one brother, Jerry Orosco. He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Porfiria Martinez, his sister Lorraine Malone and brothers in-law Orlando Barela and Frank Malone.

Eric was an extremely hard working man and played hard when he had the chance, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golf, tennis, woodwork and leather craft. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

The family would like thank Eric’s neighbors for all of their help and support.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
